Rain...rain....rain...

And its still raining. Still no complaints, tho. Our drainage is spectacular here; no puddles no standing water, our ponds are full, the flowers are ready, the grass is growing. I think we're easily up to 16 inches of rain this week. The drought is over, lakes are up where they should be. Im sorry for all of those fighting flood waters, that is just awful.

It is more rain than I thought I would ever see in such a short period of time. BUT it could be worse. We could live on one of the flooded roads that so many people are being evacuated from right now. I heard on the tube today that over 80% of Daytona Beach's (that's where we live) roads are flooded and impassable. Lucky we live up on a dune/hill. The only thing that can be flooded is our garage as it is under the house. I'm just glad the sump pump is still working out there.

The other thing I'm thankful for is all the great advice I recv'd from this site telling me how to build my coop. I almost built it on the ground but after reading a couple of "what would you do differently" posts I decided to build it up off the ground and have more space for the run under it. That was one of the best things I ever did 'cause the run is a wet muddy poopy mess. I could not imagine trying to put all 9 girls in the house now that they no longer fit in the palm of my hand.

Anyway, gotta go and get back to work. Have fun this weekend ya'll

It has rained over six inches in last two days here. I will not complain though since we had two year drought and just wished we could get some rain. It is keeping everything cool for the end of Spring here. The chicken pens are a mess. I keep thinking as I hold on to keep from sliding down that the Mud Monster may get me. I know the chickens are probably ready for a dry day again where they aren't confined to smaller areas to stay dry. Has anyone heard if we are getting sunshine tomorrow.
