Hatching
I was wondering if anyone uses rainwater to hydrate their flock. When I was young my grandparents used a cistern which is collected rainwater and pumped to the coop and cattle trough. Has anyone had bad results recently? I am retired and trying to eliminate chemically enhanced food and have started square foot gardening and rabbits as well as a few chicks for eggs. My only concern is the air pollution since I live so close to a large city.(12 miles away) Of course the alternative is city water which has chemicals as well-- dang why does it have to be so complicated??

I remember the taste of a fresh chicken egg and a fryer poppin on the skillet things don't taste the same now days.

Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
