I agree. I am looking for a 6x4 shed and obviously providing more shelter from the rain - hence the thread! Have got some pallets and corrugated iron sheets over the week so all ready to start roofing this weekend.

I heard of an idea where you can put some kind of netting or grid material over some the grassy area. The chickens can only eat the grass that grows up above the grid. That way, the area you want to protect from getting too muddy, will still have grass so it won't just be mud in the rain.
