My birds seem to love it. Anyone else. I would think they would stay in and dry. Even on pretty cool days. Should i just keep them pend up or let them shower in the rain....jim s

Mine are Ok with the rain. They hate the snow though. Funny chickens. I let them go out in the rain, but I put them in the coop early so they have a chance to dry off before they sleep.

My chickens always seemed to enjoy the rain.
I say let them play

Most of mine seem to like the rain as long as it is not a hard rain. I have one that will not go out in the rain. My 10 month old Brahma cockerel will stand out in the rain, lean to one side, raise his wing to the rain and then lean to the other side and do the same thing. I guess he likes his showers.

Ours don't mind light rain, but go under cover during heavy downpours. They always seem to start out not even liking the light rain, but once they discover that rain brings worms to the surface, they are out foraging in the rain. They always look so funny, with their beaks all covered in mud, from digging for worms. Mmm... Yummy!

We live in the rainiest place in the continental US - It rains almost everyday here, and. . . The chickens don't really care most of the time. The only birds I worry about are our Polish during the winter, when it rains 3x as much, so I tie up their crests to prevent problems.
