raining

We just aquired 5 adult hens who put themselves to bed at night in the coop and all we do is shut the door. My concern, being a first time chicken mama, is that today is it raining steady, not hard but steady and they are soaked but still hanging around my back door for treats or something. I put them in their run and closed the door as the run is covered. Would it be smart to do this or just leave them be. They looked so sad standing there dripping wet. We are not sure how their previous owner took care of them.
