Hi! So today was a huge rainstorm, lots of rain and some wind. My chickens got a little wet, but they all have waterproof feathers and tarps to prevent all rain from coming into their run. They’re coop is all dry. But I am concerned about sickness. Their run was pretty wet because the wind blew rain into their run. One of my chickens has a cut on her foot that I noticed today. I don’t want any of them to get sick, anything I can do to help prevent sickness?

Fresh air, good feed, clean water, and plenty of elbow room are the keys to chicken health.

As long as they have a dry, sheltered place they *could* go it's OK if they choose to be out in the rain. I've actually seen my flock foraging in between the major rain bands of tropical storms.

If the coop is dry it's OK for the run to get wet from time to time.

A rainstorm isn't going to cause a health problem unless the water gets so deep they drown. The problem comes in when the coop and/or run stays wet for several days, long enough for unhealthy microbes to grow in the wet mess. Or if they don't have a dry place to go. If their feet stay wet for days on end they can develop problems. It sure sounds like you don't have those problems.

As long as it isn't too violent mine like to forage in the rain. The rain brings earthworms and other treats to the surface.
