My chicks are between 6 and 8 weeks old. I've been allowing them to hang out in a partly covered pen outside during the day and they've been in the garage for the night until my dh finishes the coop(hopefully this weekend). It's raining all day today and wondering if it's ok that they are outside. It's not down pouring, but it's a steady rain and a little chilly. They have cover to go under. They look a little cold, but don't seem miserable. Maybe I'll just cut their outdoor time short today. What do you think?

I'm not sure how chilly is chilly for your area, but my 8 week old banties are outside right now in the rain (54 degrees) and doing ok. In fact, they love it a bit more than I wish they would! They make a game out of it, running from coop to the other end of the run and back chasing each other. They are just like kids! Of course, mine have been outside for a couple weeks now so pretty adjusted to the weather and temps. I would think since they have their feathers they will be ok.

It's about 50 degrees F. They've been outside for several weeks during the day too.
