Hi, The question I have is: I have sand in the run that is attached to the chicken coop. There is a metal roof covering the run and the coop. The sides of the run are hardwire cloth. It is raining like crazy. The sand in the run is quite damp just from the air being so wet. Chickens are completely dry. Is having the sand be damp just from all the damp air a bad thing. Will be nice in a couple of days, so it should dry out. Thanks

That's no problem. The sand will dry. I have the exact same style of run as you do, and there is always one side that gets a little wet, because of how the wind blows. One thing I do is I scoop out the poo with a kitty litter scoop, and then I rake the sand daily. That helps to loosen up the sand, and it will dry quicker than when it is packed down. It also helps keep odors away if you rake it and scoop it often.

Your chickens will be fine.
