I am getting ready to buid something similar for our new calls. What is the dimention of the opening from the outside to the inside?

I am trying to figure out all the dimentions for the pen. I was asking what is the size of the opening from the outside area where the pool is, into the inside pen area where they eat and sleep?

The entire pen is 4ft by 8ft. Its 6ft tall. The shelter is 4ft wide, 3ft tall, and about 2.5ft in depth. It doesnt need to be that much in depth. In fact, the shelter for my mandarin pen is only 2ft in depth.

Are these pens meant for them to be in 24/7, or as just a place to keep them safe at night and while away?
