Raised POOP BIN (will it work)

Good Morning.

Okay I woke up thinking hmmm, what if I riase my poop bin, and make the bin only about ten inches deep with the screen cover. A slideout for easy outside cleaning.
My thoughts for doing this would be to free up the square footage of the coop floor. The space under the nests and poop bin could be utilized.

If this is a waste of space and will not make a difference let me know.

I think this is a great idea- it has the convenience of a droppings shelf and you don't lose coop space. Just be sure it's easy to clean...nice idea!

Thank you so much. I kept thinking this is too easy there must be a reason everyone else puts theirs on the floor. So I asked, But yet no one has been able to reply with any reason why this would not work.

I am doing it, and yes their will be a door that the entire tray will slide out for easy cleaning without even going into the coop. I just apply fresh shavings and slide back in. No need for a lid on the inside really.
