so I got this little Muscovy duckling a few weeks ago after my friend rescued her from other mean ducks. Anyways, s/he's about two months old now and s/he's still a single duck because there are no other ducks available in my area. I need to know if I can continue raising her/him like this and if I can, how. Also, there's a lake near my house and there are other ducks ther, when she's older, can I let her live there? Last thing, it's hard keeping her since in still in school so that's a whole lot of time taken from my day. Any suggestions? Please help...

This could be a very important time for both of you - think about how important you are to her. Or him.

Releasing the duck to the lake would not be good. Ducks raised by people do not do well on lakes - most of them die quickly, don't know what to eat, or get sick but cannot get help.

There is a Free Rehoming forum, where you might find another single duck so the two can keep each other company. Or you might find a home for the duckling.

In the meantime, I am glad you cared enough to rescue him or her. An unbreakable mirror can help when you are not there.
