The method I use is also popular, and the principle is the same...you want to make their legs stay under them in the position that they should.
I use a strip of Vet Wrap, some use a strip of a bandaid.
This has to be done asap. If you let it go, it's harder to fix. It will take about 3 days to fix if you catch it early as you did.
