Raising catfish

Hey guys I came up with this Idea.
I have a 1000 gallon tank so I thought of maybe cutting it in half and turning it into a pond, it would have a drainage system and two 250gph water pumps in it to keep the mater flowing good.
And then I read up on raising catfish in a 55 gallon, barrel so I thought to myself if you can raise 40 catfish in 55 gallon barrel I could easily get 200 in 500 gallons with plenty of room. Any Ideas will be welcome

That was also another choice for me but I have never eaten tilapia before so I think that's another project for a different day

I have streams on my property and I was thinking of damming one of them and raising catfish myself. I was thinking about that so we didn't need pumps.
