Raising chickens and turkeys together

I have a flock of Cornish giant chicks as well as some turkey poults which are 3 weeks old now. I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to moderate the food intake of the chickens. Our chicken flock got very large last year with free feeding and I was told that I should moderate the intake of food for the chickens by feeding them twice a day as opposed to free feeding. Any ideas on how to do this while still allowing the turkey to eat freely?
Thanks in advance.

Mine are 8 weeks tomorrow and I'm processing them tomorrow. I was told to due 12 hours on 12 hours off with free feed, but I just feed them 3 times a day and they have access to free range which they do, they just aren't that great at it. I raised my turkeys and cornish X's together with no issue, I notice however that my turkeys act hungry when I go to feed them, yet if I watch them they are always just free ranging and picking at the ground.

Thank you! I was thinking of doing the 12 hours free feed and taking the food away at night. We have almost 24 hours of sunlight right now so I hope that doesn't affect them by taking the food away. When the turkeys are a bit bigger I might try to get something a little higher for them to reach that the chicks cant.
Thanks for the input

So I have 4 turkeys and 5 chickens both 3-4 weeks old. Just moved them outside. I plan same feed then Cornish are quicker to process after that it'll be turkey feed. All feed is fermented and fed most the day and not at night 9pm to 9am . Darkness is after 11 and before 2. I hope this works. I know turkeys want more protein

. They just got put out so there is still some green stuff

I was told that turkeys need to 'graze' 24 hours a day. Your turkeys aren't 'starving' when you put the food out in the morning? If I can do what you do, it would be awesome! Last year we only had Cornish x's and our smallest one was about 10 pounds and we slaughtered at 7.5 weeks. I wanted to start raising chickens so I could ensure they were treated humanely. We ended up slaughtering when we did because I couldn't stand seeing them struggling to get to their feet.
Thanks for the input!!

Turkey and chicken should not be together. There are things chicken carry that will kill turkey. It is called blackhead and it kills them. Do some people get away with it, yes but I don't take the chance.

Blackhead is not common in my area so I choose to keep together. At least this time.

I keep my breeding flock of Royal Palms (two toms, five hens) and meat turkeys (two Broad Breasted White hens) with a Light Brahma cockrel. I was strongly cautioned against keeping them together, until a long time turkey breeder told me that if my turkeys are free range, then it makes no difference since they can easily develop blackhead from wild birds. I'm not sure if I will regret this decision, but so far I am not. I actually like allowing my little cockrel out with the turkeys. They all love roaming together and engaging in turkey activities together.

So my turkeys and Cornish are doing ok now my DH wants to add 4 ducks.

Will this work?
