Raising chickens

My son and I are new to raising chickens. We don't have any chickens yet. We want to build their tractor before we purchase chickens. My son is raising 3 boys as a single parent and I'm on disability so growing our vegetables and herbs are almost
a must for us.

I'm not sure where you are located but if you are located in the south please think about building a large walk-in open air coop.
Chicken wire is not predator proof and it will not keep rats and mice out either so think about half inch hardware cloth.
