I'm getting chicks any day now, they actually started hatching this morning on my friend's farm. I am planning on putting their brooder in the coop itself from day 1. I'm hoping this means they can integrate to the flock early. Is this possible?

Second, it's warm here in Ohio. Like mid 80s. Will I need to heat them as much?

Yes, many feel it is preferable to have the brooder in the coop, yes you will be able to integrate them earlier...and no you won't have to heat them as much....
Good luck! post pics!
