I am putting in a high tensile fence for 2 1/2 acres that will surround trees, brush, a small pond and some forrest habitat to keep out predators. Could anyone tell me if I add some golden pheasants if they would stay in the area without an aviary if I raise them as chicks? I have this dream of creating a sanctuary for some guineas, chickens, goats and it would be very nice to have happy pheasants.

If they are not in a covered pen they will at some point take off. They make stay in the area if nothing is hunting them.

I agree with Tony K T. I would not take the risk of them flying off. The only other thing I could think of would be to trim their wings but again I would never do that. They would loose their best defense against any kind of predators. Good Luck with all your birds.
