Raising Guinea Fowl 101

Being at least half deaf, I can't answer that question but if you candle the eggs and they are internally pipped it is time to start lockdown. I always write my lockdown and hatch dates on the calendar so that when I lose track of time I can easily figure it out.

My wife has good hearing. She can even hear my thoughts. She says they never peep until the day or so before they hatch.

Guys I need help asap, I have about 20 guineadowl eggs in the incubator but I lost the hatch dates and don't know if they should hatch this Monday or a week on Monday, (it's Sunday today), I opened the incubator and some of the eggs are cheaping so does that mean they want to hatch tomorrow or in a week, how soon do they start cheaping?

I wud say, if you can hear them cheap, you'll probably see them within a day or two.

For what its worth I set some chicken and guinea eggs on the same day.... I locked down the bator for the Chickens and left it locked down till the Guineas hatched.... Stoopid me... but the only ones that hatched were the Guineas.

I also read that turning the eggs isnt so important the last week.... Dont know where I read that...

but since they were all my own and pullet eggs I thought What the heck.

So the guinea eggs were not turned for about 10 days

If you can hear them chirping they have internally pipped and should hatch in the next 24-48 hours...

Download the free 'HatchaBatch' app it's great for keeping track of incubations, especially if you have a lot of start and end dates to keep track of...
