Raising Guinea Fowl 101

Until you go through your guinea's first breeding season you don't know what guineas are really like. Unless you are NPIP certified and include the proper paperwork, it is not legal for you to mail Ralph any hatching eggs.

In addition, I am NPIP and cannot bring any birds into my flock that are not NPIP.

As far as hatching rates go I find guineas hatch at about the same rate as chickens.

Do not get me wrong, I love my guineas but I have no illusion as to their character.

I was just joking. I've never shipped eggs in my life. I know they will change when they go threw their breeding season I will just enjoy them now while I can.

I am happy to announce that Spider and Mary Jane both are on the honor roll and received a ribbon for perfect attendence. Ralfie their not all bad. Here they are eatting their breakfast.

Your guineas are adorable!! (something I truly never thought I would say!) Although they may be on the honor roll now, they are only being swayed by food and it won't be too long before they join the ranks of their many mafia families. In the infamous words of Wednesday Adams: "wait"

I must say, after losing our nest to flooding waters, our guineas have become more rambunctious and more derelict!

You want to see upset Guineas you should be here today. I had sidewalks poured this morning so I have kept them all locked up to avoid them burying Jimmy Hoffa' body in the wet cement...They are not happy over being locked up and seeing wet cement to bury the bodies in...

A keet? You need more, one lonesome keet will be confused to think it is a chicken.

Or you will come out some day to see it lying dead with a needle in its wing, from an over dose of heroin.... BTW do not open the door when the police come to question you about your guineas whereabouts the day before...

Otherwise Chrissybug you will do fine with them....
