Raising Guinea Fowl 101

Thanks,

I tried incubation 1 year but din't have any luck with 2 different batches of eggs. I was thinking of just letting the hens hatch the eggs and then raising the keets in a brooder for a while but wonder about reintroducing brooded keets/poults into the flock. Would they be accepted or would I have to build a new house for them?

I had about ten full grown Guineas when I Brooded up some keets I got from a breeder. When they were ready to go outside I put them in a large pvc framed cage.... one where the adults could walk all around. And I put a wood lid on it because the adults liked to walk on top of the cage too. Left them all in there for a couple of weeks. Opened the door and it was a non issue. I made the cage door only big enough to let the youngsters out not the big ones in.

The biggest male I have might be 5 pounds or so, they are not a very large bird. Thats a nice number to keep!

I have 3 guinea fowl and was told that one was a male and 2 were female, makes sense because two of them look alike and one is different on the head and the noises that they make.
The part that I don't understand is the first couple of days we got two eggs a day, now on a regular daily basis we get three eggs a day, two of which are the same color one is a different color.

Forgot to post my question. I guess the question I have is how am I supposed to know if I have 2 males and 1 female that is laying 3 eggs or is it 2 females that are laying three eggs or all of them females. one actually sounds different. so if anybody has some suggestions I'd appreciate it

I am afraid if you are getting three eggs a day you have three females Or a chicken is adding to the nest... Guinea eggs are a different shape and mostly tinted a bit brownish or speckled

Egg comparison Guinea eggs have a more pronounced pointy end.
