Raising Guinea Fowl 101

This question is a little off topic but basically I can't really live without my chickens and horses and ofc Guineas, but land over here is very expensive in e Ik so I was wondering does anyone know roughly how much per acre land is in the USA? Like around California? As I've been think I'd like to move there some day.

If you import your Guineas to the USA and you just let them loose they will steal enough land for you without costing you a penny..... However, you will have to live under their rules..

So Basically I have no idea of land cost in California, I would guess where in California makes as huge a difference as it does here in Minnesota.

Land cost here in the U.S. vary greatly depending on which part of the country and even what part of the state your looking at. I live in Southestern Iowa and good farmland here is pretty cheap at around $5,000 to $10,000 per acre, depending on the amount of land and geography. One nice thing about the area here is that you can put almost any seed or plant in the ground and it grows like crazy without the need to really irrigate/water much. California is much hotter and drier and also really expensive. Northern California is generally less expensive than Southern California (with exceptions). I like Northen California much better.....it's generally less crowded and the weather is more temperate. If you are looking for just land (with no house) you might try looking on landwatch.com and if you are looking for land with a house included, you might try looking on Zillow.com. This will give you a rough idea of what current asking prices are. I'm guessing most of it will be less expensive than where you currently live. Good luck!

Thanks, do you know which states have a climate similar to England, tho a bit warmer

probably states that are on a similar latitude and near the coast. The Atlantic ocean is warmer than the Pacific so that mitigates climate.

but the US is a a Big country. so land costs and climates are something you have to research for yourself. California in and around the cities is pretty pricey.... Here in San Diego there are some places that just land is a million dollars per quarter acre.... Yet out in the county you can get 20 acres for 200,000 dollars.... San Diego county is about half the size of Ireland....

just found this interactive map.....

The Northwestern part of Washington State may be similar. I grew up in the Southeastern part of Washington state which can be very hot in the summer with snow in the winter, but the NW part (Puget Sound area) may be similar in climate and is very nice. I would avoid Seattle.....it rains a lot, is crowded, and expensive. Port Angeles area is nice, as is Anacortes, Port Townsend, and some of those area islands. The land is more expensive in that part of the state but will probably be considerably less than California.

I would think the north eastern arrowhead of Minnesota would be similar. Wet, rainy and cool. Very few people with some very cheap land, must of that is accessible only in winter when the ground is frozen and before the 12 feet of snow hit.

Lake Superior moderates the temps.

I would love to see her in the other outfits if it's not to much trouble. Can you post them?

Sorry it took so long to post these crazy photoshopped pictures that my daughter did with my guineas...my main computer was down and my ipad would not let me upload the photos. Anyway, here are the pictures you asked for. I have more, but didn't want to post them all and overwhelm everyone!

The first three are Pip....she is the one in my avatar:

This is Peep....I guess I could call him Pirate Peep!
