Hi! I'm a new memeber, but been reading posts for ages. I have barred rock heritage chickens, chicks and eggs in th incubator. And I am wanting to get some Chantecler chicks this spring to raise for meat. I am new to incubating and have a home made incubator so have some questions about that. I just started feeding fermented feed, and that seems to be going well. I have had/raised chickens off and on my whole life with my parents but this is the first time completely independent.

Hello from Manitoba ,
Glad you want heritage breeds , it is so interesting to learn about them .
I love fermented feed , I use it from day one .
Had a sneezing breakout this year and the ff is the perfect medium to treat them as you see fit . I added chili powder, garlic and olive oil .

You'll find many ideas and lots of opinions here

Welcome!

Ken has given you a good starting point, the Incubating & Hatching Eggs Forum so I will just send good hatching vibes your way.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures that feature our feathered and non feathered friends
