hi, just started researching information on rqising chickens at home for eggs and hobby. where to search? and where to start? any help will be appreciated.

The best place to start would be the Learning Centre here:

If you look in the brown header you will see sections on coops, breeds etc that will give you some ideas on what breeds are available and what coops you can build (much cheaper than buying!). If you have any questions, feel free to ask. We're here to help.
