Good Afternoon everyone. I am Amanda. I joined this community because i find myself always reading the post here. I have recently started growing out a flock of chicks again... its been a LONG time since i've done this, and can use all the tips and advice you all have to offer.

We recently had a friend put some eggs in a incubator for us from his flock of americuanas and brown leghorns... we wanted to get 6 chicks. Low and behold 27 hatched (out of 30 he placed in there) and he gave us the WHOLE hatch! we are growing them out and over the 4 weeks we've had them we've bonded with a few and decided to keep 7 from that hatch and will re-home the others. Prior to our friend putting them in the incubator for us i had ordered 3 silkies (straight run) and 2 Cream legbar pullets from a farm up north. We just received those little ones three days ago.

I am positive i will be coming to the forum for lots of advice. Soon, once the silkies and legbars grow out a little more i will be working on integrating them into the 7 we are keeping and will be going to the boards for advice. One of the silkies we got this week also came with a bad leg. I originally thought it was broken but am leaning towards spraddle/ spray or a torn Achilles thanks to you all on here. I will be posting about that after i finish this post as i am desperate for some advice to her leg heeled.

Thank you all for allowing me to join.
