Fluffy butts arrived at 5am! Thought we had Til tomorrow! Oh crap lol
*always have a set up ready for chicks and a set up for mammals (brooder/cage , feed/water bedding) *

We do because we take in a lot of rescue bunnies and often have chicks back to back in different age groups.

But I thought I had a day and had no bedding! Or waterer ready! Doh. Bedding is in the rabbitry. It was dark. I cannot startle rabbits in the dark or flip on a light. They FREAKout and can injure kits...ug...lol it worked out...I sang to the bunnies in the dark found a stack of hay and snuck out. :bun

Chicks are drinking and eating. So far so good.

What are you going to do with them? Being that old you're going to have to process and let rest 2 days in fridge. Then roast in a covered pan with 1 cup water (plus whatever) and cook low and slow 300 for 2 1/2 or so hours. Delish. I always dump a bunch of cut up potatoes, carrots, garlic and onions. Take the cover off last 1/2 hr.

This order was 50. The woman that was going to deliver can't be back until late July now. When we had this stretch of cooler rainy weather we placed an order elsewhere. Good service, didn't charge us until shipped and didn't ship until temps were in a comfortable range, all are alive and only one chick looking not so good but pepping up after some water and breakfast. 50 ordered, there were 52.
Post office was very pleased too :) loud peeps they love.

Sooooo cute.  How many?     :thumbsup

The ones outdoors now are doing great. No extra heat. No extra light- dawn til dusk. They just got outside and the rain was relentless all day and night :th but they stayed dry. Hubby tossed hay in a bin in case the inside of coop got wet but held up good. Trees and hill kept water away. Our worry will probably be a whole tree coming down on it. Some here are massive and have occasionally been hit by lightning or randomly exploded in high heat lol so there's that we forgot about til yesterday!
