Like any other animal or poultry, they need daily care of feeding, watering, cleaning up afterwards, watching out for weather, etc... Each type of quail can have different requirements for housing, breeding etc.. Some are easier than others.

I've raised a few different kinds, & by far the easiest & least spastic is the Jumbo Brown Coturnix, or the A & M's.

Yup, Coturnix are really easy. Like little chickens. Button quail are easy, but strictly decorative. The rest are harder.

We raise bobwhite quail. If it were up to me, we wouldn't. We do raise thousands of them, so that could be why I am not the biggest proponent of raising them.

I have 16 that are pets. Once they are adults, they are easy to keep.

I sold my flock of bobwhites, they were fairly hard and I think I'll stick with coturnix for now. Well, need to change my signature.

I loved having pairs of them outside calling but they never have been a huge favorite of mine to raise.
