So we decided to keep one of the few roos that came of 17 un-sexed chicks we got, he is currently 5 months and I decided which one I want to keep, any tips on raising them? If possible I want to remain more dominant but I might need to pick him up and if possible have him not totally afraid, if his behavior calls for it I understand. I wouldn’t mind a friendly roo XD I understand that sometimes it’s just how the roo is if it’s mean but tips on how to raise them, to where hopefully they are a perfect roo (I understand that it’s not always possible)

As you've already written, the cockerels all have their own personalities. Some are just plain mean.
I lucked out with 2 nice cockerels. I rehomed the unexpected one and kept the one we bought as a chick regardless of the fact he had kind of challenged me. He's growing into a really good boy. He's doing all the things you want a rooster for. And he now respects us. He watches me when I'm working in the run and I keep one eye on him at all times until he matures more and I can trust him.
You have to tolerate zero aggression from your cockerel. Don't tiptoe around him but walk around him with authority. He will respect that more than handling him. I encourage my boy to continue to eat from my hand as he did when he was a chick so he continues to trust me. I just always watch him whenever I'm that close. Just in case.

Best tip ever, don't worry about him being a fella. Treat him like everybody else and let him develop into a proper rooster. If he's mean then he's just mean and you'll see his personality as it is because you've not tinkered with him. If he's nice it works the same exact way. So don't worry he is what he is. @DobieLover is right just get in there take care of your flock, don't take any sass but don't worry about things you can't change like an agressive personality if he happens to be that way.:)

I have an amazing Rooster. He is Docile although I don't trust him fully either. He keeps his distance from me. I walk through him, never around him. I don't hand feed my Birds. My Rooster is huge so I definitely will heed help from my Husband if I ever need to pick him up.
