Does anyone raise turkeys for eating their eggs, if so do they taste similar to chicken eggs?

Thanks!

My mother would take turkey eggs over chicken eggs any day but she only gets the first batch of eggs before I let my girls brood. I personally find them too heavy/greasy, very flavorful, much like a chicken egg. The problem with raising turkeys for their eggs is that a good laying hen will only give you 90 eggs a year during spring/summer, a good laying chicken will give you 250-ish and eat a LOT LESS food in the process... BUT they make great lawn ornaments... its a personal choice, I feel.

I personally would much prefer one of my Rhode Island Red eggs over a turkey egg. Turkey egg whites are rubbery in texture, the yolk is not as orange and they are hard as heck to crack.
On the other hand, some people who are allergic to chicken eggs can eat turkey eggs.

To just crack one into a pan I prefer chicken eggs.

For baking and most other things they work well. Kind of hard to crack though. Those membranes are tough!

My turkeys are going to be my meat birds. Chickens are for eggs and meat. Ducks are for eggs. That's just my personal preferrence.

I get 8 dollars doz on eating turkey eggs! sell 80/90 dozen!!! 35 dollars doz on hatching eggs! tom!

I like turkey eggs for baking, but I'll eat them for breakfast on occasion. The only thing I don't like about them is that it's nearly impossible to crack one without the shell fracturing into a bunch of tiny pieces and getting into the food/pan before you can break the darned membrane!

I use a knife to crack them.
