ramp too steep? pop door big enough?

I'm finishing my coop tomorrow! Time for the chicks to move out of my bedroom (the only dog-free room in the house.)

One question I have before I move the girls in, does the ramp look good to you? I think the slope is probably fine, but I am worried that the opening isn't big enough. I've got some good sized breeds -- Cinnamon Queen, Delaware, Easter Egger and Salmon Faverolle.



Thoughts?

The opening looks fine to me, but without dimensions its not easy to say. This search may help in determining whether your ramp is ok.

A good rule of thumb in a perfect world:
Make your ramp twice as long as the drop which would give you a 6/12 pitch and an angle of 22.5º.
"A 4x4 block attached to the end of your ramp to make a step up will do a lot to reduce the slope also." Most chickens can jump 24"from the floor to a vantage point.

If you have 12"between the ramp and the floor opening I think you will be fine.

I would double up on the cleats on the ramp though.
