Ramp with gradual incline for goose house?

Hi Everyone,

I'm anxiously awaiting my Dewlap Toulouse pair from Holderread. We are building a duck and goose house under an existing raised building we have (the area is divided). To install the floor properly we've had to raise it up higher than expected. They still have 4 feet of head room but that leaves me with having to install them a ramp. Will they be ok with a ramp to get in and out if it's wide enough and not to steep? Thanks.

I use a ramp on my coop door for my juvenile goslings, as there is about an 8-10 inch step to get in/out of coop. They figured it out super fast and it works great.

My goose can work steps, but she prefers a ramp - especially on descending. If you install a ramp, put some cleats or some wire fencing on it - goose feet are really slippery.

Geese are incredibly clumsy.
Make sure your ramp is wide enough and not smooth.

Clumsy doesn't begin to describe them. we have a gander who walks looking up, so he trips on everything including flat ground. Make the ramp wider than the door opening, and make it as low as possible (not steep) so they can easily get up and down. Ours do prefer steps over ramps. They will circle around a ramp, but gauge and use steps quickly.
