1. if my 2 week old chick eats a bee is that ok? will she get stung and paralyzed? (of course im exaggerating) but seriously will she be ok - she almost got an angry yellow jacket the other day....

2. my chickens used to like my chick and now my banty (who is at the bottom of the pecking order) will CHARGE at lenore...

3. how big should a coop be for a maran an americauna and about a 1 1/2 lb banty?

4. would it be ok for a window to be the door for the nesting boxes so when they lay i can see if they laid?

5.a maran is supposed to be bigger than an americauna - and obviously my 1 1/2 lb banty... i looked on a chicken breed chart and it didnt say whether or not marans maturity is fast slow or moderate. what age can i put her in with the other chickens? (preferably what is the SOONEST i can put her in with the other chickens?)

and finally...

number six...

6. what is your favorite color? (lol)

thanks in advance

I watched one of my pullets catch a wasp and eat it when she was only about 8 weeks old. I kept thinking she was going to get stung, but if she did, she didn't act like it and nothing ever became swollen.

I doubt a 2 week old chick is gong to eat a wasp unless it's one slow wasp or one fast chick. My birds stay away from things that sting. Maybe it is a natural knowledge thing.

Your lowest pecking order bird is probably trying to show her dominance since she had nobody else to pick on before. I have small hens that are dominant over larger birds that got pecked on when they were just babies.

2x4 coop with like a 6x6 run will be sufficient. Bigger is always better though!

Depends if the birds like being seen when they are laying or not. Maybe add a sun shade over it so they feel more private?

As for putting them together. I'd wait for about 8 weeks to be safe, even if the others are banties. Older birds will have a meaner peck.

ok thanks! i was thinking about a 4x4 coop so luckily that works. i dont know what they prefer yet so i guess i will wait and see. as for lenore? she is a VERY fast little chick. she has caught many bugs in her lifetime of a little less than 2 weeks. so far i have been going outside with her and she pecks around and such. the other chickens are out too but they never go unsupervised. thanks silkiechicken!

another question!

if i have a 4x4 coop with a run, would the coop go in the run or would i make a frame and attatch it? and would a 4x10 run work?
