Random Ramblings= I JUST SHOT A 6 PT BUCK!!!

Congrats... never have tried myself... and now Dad's decided he'd rather be in his recliner than a cold hide at 4am so doubt I'll be doing so any time soon... though, Uncle Aaron is starting into that... it's a thought... lord knows there's enough of the buggers up there at Dad's place... talk Aaron into a trip up... oh the possibilities...

Haven't shot my deer yet, but I hit a 4-6 point buck with my jeep

Nice looking boy. They say all the big bucks in MI are in the south.

All the schools in northern Michigan get the day off school tomorrow.

So this means 2 weeks of hearing "T'urdy Point Buck" and "Second Week at Deer Camp" and "Fred Bear" nonstop on the radio, eh?

Please tell me you guys don't drink that stuff off Escanaba in da moonlight!!!! LOL!

There are quite a few.......... there used to be some nice ones, but so many hunters are down here hunting now compared to even when I got that deer. I've not seen anything that nice since then.

But I keep trying!

OMG!!!!! Just came in from outside, it's dark and 8:00pm.. there were two bucks fighting in my back yard!! We couldn't see them, but we could hear them, they were very close. So cool, and now I'm totally stoked for tomorrow!

Locally, we have what we call "Gladwin Deer" since they are so prevalent in Gladwin county: HUGE deer with itty bitty antlers even if they're 8 or 10 pointers, the spread and diameter of the antlers are ridiculously small.

Unfortunately, the deer in our backyard aren't very good eating. We live in a cedar swamp and the deer eat the cedar twigs and bark so they taste like turpentine

And we're not *supposed* to bait deer either. That was the only way we could get decent tasting deer. If not, DH hunts up at his friend's house.
