Randomly attacking rooster

I’ve had my rooster for 2 years now since he was a little chick, and he’s always been a docile calm guy who just minded his business and actually ran away from my husband and I any time we got close. I was sitting in the pen with my chickens and he came over and tried to spar with me out of nowhere. Today, he got out when I opened the door and chased me all the way to my front door. He doesn’t do this to my husband and he’s never done it to me until now I have no idea what’s going on.

Eventually their hormones get the best of them. There are some articles on how to try to correct the behavior. Some people have patience for it while others don’t want to risk the rooster attacking their children.
