When letting your chickens run loose during the day should I place their food outside of their run ? When I put them in the run late afternoon they act starved. I'll sprinkle on ground to get them to go back in and the gate is open all the time they are out so they could get into eat ?

I leave my fodder in the coop with a waterer, I also have water in there as well. I also have water outside so they don't have to travel so far, you could put a feeder out but remove at the end of the day to prevent predators or other nondesirable pests away at night. I always keep a feeder inside the coop to help with them coming back in at night. Hope this helps.
