(rant)do people really not read the whole thing or are they just

We have a local sale paper called the Carolina Bargin Trader around here and I swear some people must paper the walls of the house with them or save them forever. We get calls from adds 3 and 4 months ago. "what do you mean you still don't have them"? My answer... the click from the phone hanging up.

Have had a couple of odd replies from creepslist myself, mainly people asking things that were clearly spelled out in the ad...

LOL I'm glad i'm not alone. Some of these people make me afraid to share the same highway.

We have a variety of scenarios, almost exclusively regarding people who want something other than what I have advertised.

Chicks for sale: "Do you have hatching eggs?"
If you're only willing to spend $5/dozen on the eggs, and I can sell chicks for $3-5 each, what do you think? I know I got a C in Economics at school, but come on. Surely not that many people know about it

Horse for sale, not a kid's horse: "So how hard does it buck? Could my kids ride it?"
It bothers me that I have more concern for your kid's welfare than you do. No, I will not sell the horse to you whatever the price if I know your harebrained plan.

Horse for sale, not a kid's horse #2: "Do you have any kid's horses for sale?"
No dumbass, otherwise i'd advertise them.

Horse for sale, not a kid's horse #3 "Can we come have a look? My 13yr old daughter has been saving up and he's the right price. I was thinking she could ride him in the round pen"
I ended up telling this guy that it was pointless him even coming, as the kid was only going to be disappointed. I doubt he would have hurt her though because she probably wouldn't have been able to get near him!

Ranch horse for sale, needs a job "I'm not interested in the mare you advertised, but do you have a gentle, older gelding trail horse etc. etc."
No, I have a ranch horse that needs a job! If I had a gentle gelding i'd be darn sure keeping it!

Ranch horse for sale... "Will you take payments of $50 a month, I really want her"
How do you know you really want her, you haven't asked me anything about her or come to look at her! And no, if you can only afford $50 a month, you can't afford to keep her.

5 month old doeling for sale "Does this goat have milk?"
Well since the gestation period for a goat is 5 months, unless she was born pregnant, no she does not. And no, I won't sell you any goats until you read up on them!

5 month old doeling for sale "Do you have any goats in milk?"
Agghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Oh, and the most annoying of all the people I've had to deal with....the ones who don't show up. They arrange a time to meet and then they don't bother to show.....what a pain!

Yes, and then they have the nerve to try and 'reschedule'.

Been there done that. We give them a time frame "if you aren't here by 10 am Saturday morning the next in line gets a call" and we tell the other people that call you are 2nd, 3rd in line etc, we will call you. works very well.

I have a washing machine I am selling for $35.00 it works great. It one of the older models where the drum and all the working components are metal. Very heavy. Well for the last week "grandma" says her granson is coming to get it. Sent her my number told her, he needed to call by today or somone else is getting it. 30 more minutes and someone else who obviously DOES need it will be getting a note from me to come and get it.

Evidently timeliness is not a virtue in these people too. Ugh, I dread listing some of the other items.

Then there is the spam written in very poor english asking if I need a job in reference to an add posted for roosters for sale HUH! I totally missed that correlation somehow.

Holy Cow, noticed the name and avatar wasn't my own, guess ds decided to join.....little stinker....

I feel your pain ....The world is full of idiots.....

However, I find that friends of mine who ask these type of stupid questions seem to stumble across deals.

Basically if you have the cojones to ask for a deal, then half the time you will get one.

Its all about Haggling

Creeplist... that's a good one.

I was selling Serama's that I asked 4 whopping dollars a piece (chicks)

I get an email, how much will you let them go for.... I answer, 4 dollars a piece as stated in the ad..... person replies, Oh I can't possibly pay four dollars for a chick. Ok, I tell them, but they are still 4 dollars each. So he emails me back the next day... I'll take all you have, how much then..... ummm, this is getting monotonous here, 4 each, but, they are all gone, so the next ones will be 5 each

But wait,a few days later I see the very same person on here selling fertile hatching eggs for a price that was certainly fair to the seller. So, this person knew what I had and what they were worth. Kinda ticked me but, live and let live.
