I wouldn`t either. The two ISA Browns I lost. I ended it for one of them but I left her with her flockmates until then. The second one I found on the coop floor the morning after she could not make it up the ramp to get in the coop, she was gone... I figure if I am pretty sure they do not have some thing the healthy birds won`t catch from them I leave their final days with their friends... Only fitting. As long as not suffering badly. Two of my remaining three have been off. One had a pale comb and sat around not eating or drinking much. I gave her a 7 day treatment of Doxytil anti biotic and 1 500mg capsule of Chinese Skullcap ( biacalin) after a week she was fine! Another one has been acting off a bit, labored breathing which she seems to have periodically so I guess we will see how she does. I am pretty sure our flock is Mareks positive so it really is kind of a guessing game at best! Best of luck with yours! I know I will never keep another production breed!
I am sorry for your loss there.:hugs It is heart breaking to see them go through this.

The mass was encased in the Oviduct, so I would call that Salpingitis.

Salpingitis is inflammation of the Oviduct.

Salpingitis is not really contagious. It's possibly that you may have more than one with the condition, hard to know.

If they are active, eating/drinking and acting normal, I'd just enjoy them.
Thank you @Wyorp Rock

So that big mass were in her Oviduct and it had stretched out the poor organ to that size.

My 2 hens are active now, but now I know that sooner/later they will end up sick. I will remind myself that there is little time left to have them so spend that little time with them.

Could I give them Curcumin to reduce the inflammation on the Oviduct? Will this work?
