Rapid and severe swelling in body and face

I would use a towel to gently wrap around his wings to restrain him. You might have to gently tie his legs together or wrap them in the towel as well to keep him from using them to fight. If you are able to use a head lamp in an otherwise darkened room, that might help keep him calm.
Using the diagram posted by @Wyorp Rock it will probably be helpful to figure out exactly which areas you're going to work on. Keep in mind that you may need to change up the plan as you go and are better able to assess more.

You can use a large needle or just open the skin with a small knife to make a hole to push the air out, then hold some gauze or tissue with antibiotic or vaseline ointment for several minutes. Of course disinfect the skin before attempting this. If the air sacis not expanding, it can be left alone, and the air will be absorbed by the body. Read post 5 here:

I found this ^^^ post by @Eggcessive that has a lot of information covering ruptured air sac treatments. I hope this helps 💜 Please keep us updated on how this goes. I'll be wishing you all the best

Thank you so so much.

I wonder why all the videos there are are baby birds. I haven't seen a single one for a more mature bird.. and there's really not too much info on ruptured air sacs in general.. figures. Thanks again though. 🙃

Good question. It might be a good idea for you to record and upload your treatment 💜 It certainly wouldn't hurt and I imagine it will help others in your situation 😊

Ok, sorry it's been a crazy day. No other birds sick. It's air. He hasn't died. He actually started to act his usual hellion self.. I think it was just extra uncomfortable and scary for him at first but he obviously got used to whatever the sensation is.. is it painful? We have been debating who is going to pop the balloon all day. I haven't been able to find any videos or instructions that are in English and/or don't leave me with a million questions.. he's asleep now so I want to do it tonight but I need more detail. How do you know where to poke him? What if he moves? He's a crafty little bird.. how do I restrain him? Can I injure him by keeping him still? Where should I poke? His head is even blown up. I saw a video of a guy doing a birds head but it's like the thing was on ludes. There is no way my Deanie will sit like that. Plus it was not in English so idk what the guy was explaining. He had obviously done this before though.. His feathers make it hard to know what is where.. I think my manager n issue is how to keep him still so I don't injure him by restraint or mid poke. Do I keep the needle in him? Is 18 gauge good enough? I'm sorry I'm probably forgetting something but it's go time so hopefully someone is available who knows something about this. Sorry it took me all day. Bad weather and all kinds of fun stuff.. thanks in advance
There's a few videos in this link that you may find helpful.

You can swaddle him in a towel if you need to.
Where to poke? Depends on the location of the rupture.

Definitely check with your county or vet to find resources to test his poop. Bc of the fast moving Avian outbreaks they most likely will be free. And if he passes, they will help collect him for testing.

I’d be sure to quarantine him ASAP too.

Hope he pulls through. 🙏🏼

I'm sorry I got so side tracked letting everyone know what was going on.. it was a ruptured air sac and we deflated him and he was good as new by the next day. Thank you so much.
I was thinking about you and your rooster yesterday. This is some of the best news I've read! Great job taking care of him. Thank you for the wonderful update.
