Rapidly Sick Chicken!

Hello all,

I came home to a very sick chicken. The house sitter says she was fine so it appears this happened very rapidly (3 days?). Not quite frothy diarrhea almost a bit pinkish then turned a grey murky color on day 2. She is actively passing away. The smell is incredibly awful, and she has the same color fluid (with particulates) comin ffrom eyes and noes. She refused to eat/drink and barely took antibiotics cia syringe. Super sad as she was my number one. But!!! I dont know what the cause is and while other chickens are getting a broad spectrum treatment I wanted to see if anyone could help with a more specific diagnosis.

Can you post photos of the poop and of your hen?
She has fluid coming from the eyes and nose?
Where are you located - State/Country?
How old is she?
What antibiotics are you giving her?

If you have vet care, that is best.
I'm sorry that your hen is very ill.

How is her crop - is it empty in the mornings? If she is actively passing away and is not getting better with treatment, sometimes it's kinder to put them down.
Send the body to your state vet lab for testing - this will give you some answers.

Is the awful smell coming from her head area? If so, most likely it's Coryza. Primary treatment for Coryza is a sulfa drug; sulfadimethoxine or SMZ-TMP, either used in conjunction with tylan 50 or tylan 200.
