Okay, thanks for all the help everyone! It would have been nice if they told us what it was...but oh well.

I checked the link to the pictures of the Lakenvelders, and I think you are right!

I don't think he is, when he was young he had white spots on his wings right form the get go... Remember? (Layira)

He had white on his back like they show in the chicks of the Silver Gray Dorkings or a Silver Leghorns

That's true....hmmm, his wing pattern does look more like one of those two. His feathers are predominantly gray, white, and black...with a little bit of yellow on his head. Those are mostly yellow as chicks, and he definitely isn't mostly yellow. Interesting..

He looks like he could mature to be the lakenvelders, but he looked nothing like the chicks shown in the catalogue.
