Cute chicks. It is odd that the hatchery doesn't at least tell you what they chose. Did you call the hatchery to find out if they should have included a description sheet. I think ours was enclosed as part of the shipping label on the outside of the box when we ordered from the hatchery.

It is tough to tell from the pics of chicks what breed they are. Once they start developing their adult feathers the folks on the forum will be able to provide better feedback on the breeds. The chicks with the darker stripes may grow up to have pretty partridge coloring. At this point the most important thing is that they are healthy and happy. Have fun with your chicks.

The turken is obviously but I don't see any crest on the ones that you think are Polish. Even for hatchery birds, you should be able to tell a Polish or silkie easily.

2. Barnevelder
3. Gold Pencilled Hamburg
4/5 Buff Brahmas
6. Sicilian Buttercup and possibly EEs or Gold Spangled Hamburgs?

Nice assortment...they must have had a lot of left-over Buff Brahmas that day.

Everyone has their favorite breeds, buff brahmas must be one of hers.

I had a brahma I was very excited about before a racoon got her.

They are great dual purpose birds and are good broodies, just what I was looking for. Once I have a better set-up (i.e. move out of the city!!!) I'm planning on trying again to get a nice assortment. I still have most of my chickies I got this spring, but that darn raccoon cleared out most of my favorites in one night! My light brahma, my 2 beautifully laced SL cochins, and 1 of my Easter Eggers.
