I would like to see if we have enough interest to start a rare bird egg swap. This thread could give those who have an interest in preserving rare breeds a chance to build their flocks with new blood. This will improve hardiness and vigor with genetic diversity to dwindling breeds. Additionally, this swap might also promote interest for others to join in with our poultry preservation efforts.
Of course for all the rare breed junkies, we will be enabling our like minded friends in collecting more breeds.
SWAP RULES - This list is subject to change so please check back periodically.
EGGS MUST BE PUREBRED!
If eggs are from mixed colors, please note color combinations.
Minimum of 6 eggs. If you would like to offer more, that would be fine too.
To qualify for accepting an offer, you need to post what you are offering in return in the same post.
When each trade is posted, please pm or email the person who offered the eggs and work out the shipping arrangements.
The person sending the eggs pays the shipping costs.
When eggs are mailed, swapper needs to send a courtesy email to the swappee to let them know that the eggs are on their way.
All rare breeds of poultry are welcome in the swap. If you are not sure whether your breed is rare, post it and group interest will decide if it is allowed.
Please offer eggs that you will have available to ship within two weeks of offering.
If you only have a pair and especially if the breed doesn't lay well, combine two rare breeds. If it's super rare and you have no other rare breeds, add a few from another breed you have.
If the thread stalls for 6 hours, try changing your offer.
If combining different breeds and dates, write in pencil the date collected and breed.
I will maintain a list of members who have offered each breed updated daily by the exchanged breeds.

* If you would rather not be part of this list, PM me and I'll remove you from the list.
