I just aquired a new rooster, and I noticed that his crow is very raspy sounding. I have no idea if this is his normal crow or not due to just getting him, but I feel it's a bit much to be normal. He has no abnormal symptoms aside from this, though I seen him sneeze once in the past two days. And I'm with him quite a bit. He made what I call their "dinosaur noises" (little screeches and chattering noises) and it is really raspy as well. He is older, at least four. Would this be something to be overly concerned about? What precautions would you take if this was your bird? Poo also looks normal, now. Though it has a slight green tint when I first got him. Today it has been fine looking.

Video of what he sounds like? Upload video to youtube and provide a link.

Roosters can may all kinds of vocalizations, so what you hear could just be his normal voice.

You have him quarantined away from your existing flock correct? This will give you time to observe for any illnesses/symptoms and check him out for lice/mites, that his crop is emptying, give you time to get a fecal float to see if he has worms, etc. Once you determine he's in good enough condition, the begin the process of introducing him to your ladies.

I have him in quarantined now, yes. He is definitely not enjoying it much. I will try to get a video and upload it tomorrow. I'll have to make a YouTube account. How do you go about getting a fecal float? I did check him over for lice and mites as soon as I got him. His legs are slightly questionable. I'm not great at identifying SLM yet, aside from a horrible case I had a few months back from one I acquired. But it was drastic. His body and head look fine.
He very much sounds like an old man... Lol. It may very well just be his crow...I hope so. But it's definitely pretty different if so. I'm just hoping it's not a respiratory issue.

What do you mean quarantined now? You put him with your existing flock? For how long?

If you have a vet that sees your other animals, call and ask if they will perform a fecal float on a sampling of the rooster's poop. You just collect some of his poop in a ziplock, take it to them and they perform a test to see if he's got worms.

Alright, I can do that. I havent had to have any of the chickens seen but I do have one for my other animals. I'm not sure if they deal with poultry, but I can call in and ask. If not, I know of one not far that I know does.
And he was amongst them for a couple of hours. I had him crated for the evening and night that I had gotten him, and the following day (yesterday) I had let him mingle after some time crated amongst the others. I had looked him over and he looked good, so I didn't see any reg flags. Until he started crowing and it sounded off.

Not sure what's going on there.
Could be some stress. Do check his crop to make sure it's emptying and that he doesn't have any lesions inside his beak.
Roosters can make all kinds of grunts, groan, squeals and noises so there's that too.
