Rat Thief

Hello,
My 5 bird's feeder always seems to be running out of food and we cant find a single egg.

A while ago it whould last 2 or more weeks now, under 48 hours! We caught a rat before in a (chicken proof) trap but there seems to be another one. is their any way to more "rat proof" out feeder/coop?? HELP!

I'll bet you have more than one more. I'd put out rat bait. That's how we got rid of them the year they moved in under the old chicken coop. My birds' feed was disappearing and I wasn't gettin any eggs, either. Couldn't figure out what was wrong with the girls until spring when I was cleaning out the coop, discovered the many holes they chewed through the floor and they were popping up looking at me! We put the bait where nothing else could get it. Never had a problem with cats eating them and getting sick. My cats will kill a rat, but generally don't eat them. My dog, either. He'll kill every one he can catch, then brings his "gift" to the doorstep.
