I have a rat in the attic.....or several. But my husband thinks its a squirrel. I bought a rat zapper, but never used it. I will see about it. They follow the electric power line to the house.
I have had rat terriers in the past and I miss them. My first was a stray and then I fell in love with the breed. My second was registered, but got bit by a snake over the summer. That is what I would use if I had a problem outdoors. They will do better than a cat.
