Rat?

Just taking a stab here. We've had rat issues in the past but I haven't seen one in months. Our smaller chicken coop is empty during the day, but yesterday one of the kids left the doors open.

Something got into the coop and removed the 2 fake eggs from the nesting box and the one real egg. They left the two fake eggs on our deck along with the eggshell from the real egg.

Does that sound like rat behavior?

My kids are older than that. Apparently not old enough to shut the doors, but old enough to leave the eggs alone.

I don't know about eggs the size of chicken eggs, but rats ate 2 fake eggs I use in my ringneck dove's nest. I left them outside the cage while she was taking a laying break, and one was half eaten and the second one was just gone. I'm 99% sure it was rats, as we were having a real problem at the time.
