Protein is composed of 22 naturally ocurring amino acids. Cystein and methionine are sulfur amino acids. Other essental amino acids (meaning they have to be in the diet and cannot be synthsized by the birds) are leucine and cystein. Recommeded requirements for white-egg layes are 0.52 % for methionine, Leusine 0.8%, lysine 0.0.52%, and methionine+cystein 0.47 percent for a diet with a metabolizable energy content of 2900 kcal/kg diet. That is about what you pelleted diet composition should be. The ME may differ, but the AA content will be adjusted to the ME level to assure they get enough. Corn is 0.0.18% methionine, 0.18% cystine, 0.26% lysine, and 1% leucine and 3350 kcal.kg.
So mixing with corn will increase the ME (causing them to eat less) while decreasing the important amino acid composition, meaning they will get even less.
