Ratio of Roosters to Hens

I have 12 hens and 1 rooster. I forgot how many hens a rooster could manage, so how many can a roo manage?

Depends entirely on what you're going for, fertility of hatching eggs should be about 10 hens to 1 rooster, but if that's not an issue for you, you could have one very happy rooster with 50 or a 100 hens.

Flock protection for free ranging birds might need a couple of roosters or more, if you have more than 20 birds.
