That's sad. I keep my coop very clean and let my chickens run free outside all day. I feel really sorry for those confined to a disgusting cage. What a terrible life.

What a sad situation. I feel bad for the poor birds, living like that... Good thing you didn't come home with anything. I guess it just shows that it's better to get birds from places where you can see the conditions they are living in, or at shows where the birds have been tested at least. That's become my policy for poultry, and I'm glad for it.

I wish there was a way to make sure everyone who has animals keeps them under sanitary, safe, spacious enclosures and that they are properly cared for.

Especially after the hoarding shows I've seen, and stories like this that I've heard.
