The only elimination is extermination. If they leave they will come back. I have been starving out my rats for over a month and they are still hanging around. This is just one of many such publications that can be found on the Internet. This one happens to be both concise and informative. All have a common theme. Rat control revolves around three things......Sanitation, Exclusion and lastly, Elimination.
Most make the mistake of going straight to elimination. Not going to be effective until you get the first two under control.
So again, the starting place is to limit access to the free food.

Snow. We have some grass still growing and two Bull Mastiffs next door. I hear rats like dog poop. And I bet those poops are BIG from those dogs.If you have been starving them, what are they living on?
Tom Cat doesn't work either. This is Junk! Get Tom CatView attachment 2478691
IDK unless my tree hugging neighbor has dog food outside. That's why I say you have to KILL them not try to relocate them. They will come back.Snow might work for the water part, but not the food. What are they living on?
