Rats!

Today I was outside with my chickens when i looked over and saw a ran run under the coop. I've only seen one but there is probably more.

What can I do?

Maybe this isn't an option for you, but I used to see some REALLLLY big rats. Then I got two barn cats...no more rats, or mice! my cats are so awsome. They kill the mice, and sometimes a sparrow or something but they never even look twice at my day old baby chicks that free range with their mothers!!!!

you could get a haveaheart trap and get the rat, then I would dispatch it to heaven....

put out a live trap i wouldnt recamend leaving it. our first rat deheaded our silkie pullet. we found the body of our chicken, eggs, rat, and baby rats in a nest under our coop. we fenced the bottom trapping them and drowned them with a hose, 2nd rat problem was 2 weeks ago, a rat bit our hen's eye we ended up having to put her down and caught the rat in a live trap. to me rats are the worest predetor
